Since 1968, Rockhaven has provided men with a safe, optimistic environment to facilitate recovery from substance abuse.
The Rockhaven environment is one in which clients, surrounded by others in similar circumstances, can feel safe while learning how to live a satisfying, substance free life.
Last year the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care provided 78% of the budget through the North East Local Health Integration Network. We are confident that with the increasing awareness that addiction contributes to many chronic diseases that the funding body will be able to assist us with permanent funding to our transitional facility. This level 2 transition house has received support from the Greater City of Sudbury, United Way Centraide, many local businesses, volunteers and the Trillium foundation.
Original Location - 402 Brady St.
This is how the building (then an apartment complex known as 299 Elm East) looked when purchased through the altruistic cooperation and Financial Support of the Mennonite Conference of Eastern Canada.
At one point the address was 5 Carleton St. and since the Brady Street bypass it has been known as 402 Brady Street. Although we’ve had three addresses we have remained in the same location for 40 years now!!
The mortgage was paid off in 1988 and celebrated with a Mortgage Burning celebration during the Annual Meeting
Current Locations - 402 Brady St. & 396 Brady St.
Rockhaven was proud to purchase the adjacent home at 396 Brady St. to be turned into a transition home for the successful men at Rockhaven. It was purchased in January 2008 and opened after many renovations in August 2008! Without all the generous support of many businesses in our community this venture would not have been possible!!
We are proud to announce the commencement of a weekly Aftercare meeting. Open to community men in recovery. To refer or register, please contact our Transition Counsellor. Fax: 671-8069 - Phone: 675-1179 Ext. #226
